Jobi Cheriyan

Jobi Cheriyan is the founder of RunTheTests and runs it out of Brightscale Labs Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. He writes the measurement engines behind the tools, the shared result format they all report through, and the test suite that checks their arithmetic.

The site exists because most online "test" tools overstate what a web page can do. A browser cannot read your drive's SMART data, your battery's true capacity, your CPU temperature or your printer's ink levels — the platform does not expose any of it, for good security reasons. Sites that claim otherwise are guessing, and a confident wrong number about failing hardware costs people money.

The engineering follows from that. Every tool runs client-side, so there is no upload endpoint to trust and you can confirm in your own network panel that nothing left the page. Every result states what it could not measure alongside what it could. Where a figure is an approximation, the result names which approximation and why it differs from the real thing.

His background is in web platform work — TypeScript, React, and the Astro framework this site is built on — along with workflow automation in Python and infrastructure on Cloudflare. He also sets the editorial rule that money never changes a result: pages that handle passwords, keys or encryption carry no advertising or affiliate links at all, and a failed test is never used as a reason to sell someone hardware they do not need.
